莫大之禍，皆起於須臾之不能忍，不可不謹。
All unbearable tragedies are caused by sudden intolerance of others.
One cannot be too cautious about it.
逆境順境看襟度。臨喜臨怒看涵養。
One's magnanimity shows in facing events of adversity and privilege.
Self-control is tested in facing events of ecstasy and resentment.
儘前行者地步窄。向後看者眼界寬。
He who walks as fast as he can will step into a narrow alley.
He who would look back the path he came is of broad vision.
花繁柳密處撥得開，方見手段。風狂雨驟時立得定，才是腳跟。
One's wisdom can only be tested through how he walks out of the dense blossoms and branches.
Only when he stands still in the rainstorm and windstorm can he prove his strength.
人當變故之來，只宜靜守，不宜躁動。
即使萬無解救，而志守正確，
雖是不可為，而心終可白；
否則必致身敗而名亦不保，
非所以處變知道。
When one encounters unforeseen mistortune, it's better to stay put and don't move restlessly.
Even if it is out of solution, one stays with his righteous will,
in spite of the difficult environment, the fact will reveal eventually;
otherwise, one's status will not only be destroyed, but also his fame.
That is not the way one uses in facing abrupt changes.
