It is best for one to not have everything fulfilled; it is better always to be a little bit short in everything.
Proven experiences have shown that as soon as one has everything to their satisfaction, there will come some ill-fate.
At leisure, sit and reflect upon one's faults; upon conversation, do not judge others.

Flattering words cannot necessarily please those who are well-experienced.
Criticizing people behind their back always deeply infuriates those who are targeted.

When one encounters difficulty in understanding another one must put oneself in other people’s shoes.
Before one judges another, one should judge oneself first.

It is not how big the favor that counts, rather, whether or not it meets the requirement.
It is not how much resentment one has gotten that matters, rather, how much the pain it causes.

The most important thing to cultivate oneself is to clear one’s mind.
The foremost thing in dealing with people is to talk carefully.
